My students need a web camera and microphones to create web-based projects. These projects would then be published on our classroom blog.

My Students
Imagine not being able to use any technology to create interactive multimedia projects. Using a webcam and microphone to tell a digital story is not only creative but exciting for the students.
We are a first grade classroom of sixteen students in a rural community.
Our building consists of students from preschool age through second grade. Fifty percent of these students qualify for the free and reduced lunch program. These students enjoy telling stories verbally and interacting with technology in a variety of ways.
My Project
My first graders are excited to see themselves in videos. Webcams would help bring this excitement to their families when their projects would be posted on our classroom blog. Verbally expressing themselves would increase the use of vocabulary and communication skills. Students would be more comfortable speaking in front of others. Students that have difficulty expressing themselves in written form would have the potential to show their learning in an exciting way.
A webcam and microphones would open my students' world to exciting communication possibilities.
Extended families would be able to see and hear their learning when projects are posted on our classroom blog.
