Help me give my students snack items that they can purchase at the school's incentive store! While shopping for desired items, the student's will learn about financial literacy.
I am the Behavior Management Teacher at our K-8 center. I work with a variety of amazing students that have disabilities. The students have a variety of disabilities such as emotional behavioral disabilities(E/BD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and specific learning disabilities (SLD). The students come from a variety of backgrounds yet all share a passion for learning. Our school is a Title I school and the majority of students receive free and reduced-price lunch. Each student has specific needs, and many have had hard lives or have had traumatic experiences. The students range from 1st-8th grade and all require special attention. Despite everything that the students have gone through, they are amazing, hard-working students who deserve the world.
My Project
All of our students want a chance to practice finances while being rewarded for academic achievement and good behavior. The materials that have been chosen for this project will be used to reward students for good behavior, academic achievement, and practice with financial literacy.
The students will have a variety of items that they can purchase from the store.
With the snacks that will be provided, students who have earned tickets can enjoy a treat from the caught being good store at the end of each week. Through the distribution of CBG Tickets student behavior is reinforced as well as academics which is tracked through I-Ready. The Caught Being Good Store (CBG) reinforces positive behaviors and attributes such as tolerance, remaining on-task, helping others, providing awesome answers during instruction and persistence to strive for excellence in their academic endeavors.
Your donation to this project will encourage the students to model positive behavior both inside and outside of the classroom, follow school-wide expectations, and encourage academic achievement.
The skills that our students will learn through the interactions with the CBG store will transfer to their future career after graduation, as well as their personal life. The Positive behavior culture at our school will also benefit the surrounding community that the students share.
