The students who attend our school who are in the emotional behavioral disabilities program come from a variety of backgrounds. Our school is a Title I school and the students receive free and reduced-price lunch. Each student has specific needs, and many have had hard lives or traumatic experiences. The students in the E/BD program range from K-8 grade and all require special attention. Despite everything that the students have gone through, they are amazing, hard-working students who deserve the world.
My Project
At our school, we have opened a Caught Being Good Incentive Store! The students are given tickets for good behavior, passed tests, lessons and I-Ready scores. Since the store has been open, it has encouraged the students to achieve academically as well as behaviorally. The incentive store has snacks, school supplies, personal items, and a variety of other items that can be purchased with tickets. At this time the store is being stocked with donations from teachers and administration. This store has been a great addition to the school and will continue to encourage the students to make good decisions and continue towards a successful path.
