Catching Up on Reading Growth

My Students

Books are magical for growing brains. Books light up the readers world. Literature in all subjects, reading levels and interests make for a well rounded Library ready for all readers!

Our students love the Library and I love watching them light up when they find a book they are so excited to read!

Our library has a table titled: RECOMMEND AS A GOOD READ. This is one of our most perused sections of the library, because students place books they've read, enjoyed and recommend to others as a good read.

Without being able to do our usual Book Fairs for the last two school years, our Library budget is severely lacking. I hope to be able to get our book stock back on track.

My Project

Many students are finding growth in catching up in reading through Graphic Novels. In light of recent losses from the pandemic, many age groups struggle in reading. Graphic novels are well rounded for all age groups. These books support High-Low Interests.

In our Library, the Graphic Novel section is popular with all students.

Some because they need the reading level and aide from the pictures, but are of the upper grade interests. Many students enjoy the Graphic Novels creating waiting lists for a turn to read. We strive to provide something exciting for me all!
