Catching the Coding Craze

Help me give my students fun items they can use to learn how to code, like the Artie 3000 coding robot and wooden puzzle pieces designed for coding Ozobots.

My Students

The Media Center is a hub of learning in our small rural school. It is a place where students come to learn about things they are curious about or even to create something from their imagination. It can house not only books, but all kinds of coding items like Ozobots and other coding robots.

Our students have been learning about coding and show a sincere interest in learning more.

Our Media Center helps foster that interest by providing coding items that they wouldn't have access to otherwise. Students enjoy practicing and expanding their coding knowledge with coding items in particular a because these items are hands-on and allow our students to see their learning in action.

My Project

In our MakerSpace, our students are learning how to code with coding language so that they can advance in their coding literacy to prepare them for a future where coding jobs are prevalent. And now our MakerSpace is in need of more tools so that students will be able to apply their coding skills in different ways.

The coding products requested in this project will help our students to practice their new coding skills in a different way, allowing them to see that there are multiple types of coding that can result in a variety of outcomes.

The Code and Go Robot Mouse kits will reinforce directional coding, while the Kano kits will help students see how movement can be used as a type of coding. And the Artie 3000 and the wooden Ozobot puzzle pieces will teach students how color can be used to code movement. Students will be able to see how the coding language they have learned translates in real life by using the different robots and coding products in this project.
