My Students

There are 5 P's to success. Proper preparation prevents poor performance. We are living in a generation that is advancing and making great strides in education.

I currently teach a group of unique scholars in a low income neighborhood where experiences are limited.

They face many challenges daily. Many are being raised in single family homes and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Each one has great potential, but they lack the necessary resources to achieve at their highest level.

My Project

The Lakeshore word houses, beginning sounds, sight words, letters, and addition, subtraction, and shapes games will aid in differentiating the instruction so that all learners are reached. They will provide a solid foundation for learning in which the students can use the hands-on activities to demonstrate their understanding of the lesson objectives and skills and help motivate students so that they are successful and confident. The students will use the materials in small groups (3-4 students) during our learning work stations which will help yield positive results from the students.

The use of the hands-on learning and teaching activities will help demonstrate and reinforce the concepts that relate to the Common Core standards for reading and math.

The students will be able to practice counting, addition, subtraction, recognizing and naming alphabet letters, reading high frequency words, and more with these tools.
