This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hard working and optimistic about the future. Our school strives to promote and cultivate a college-ready mindset in every student because only a quarter of of my students report having a family member attend college.

If you ask my students what motivates them to succeed, they would talk about their family.

Despite facing many challenges, my students come to school ready to learn and be their best in order to make themselves, their family, and their community proud. Every day I am humbled that I get to be their teacher because they recognize the power of education.

My Project

Our class has 27 chromebooks that are used for differentiating the math content, engaging students, and preparing students for common core state testing. This project aims to bring the number of chromebooks up to 40, which is a full class set. These wonderful resources now need to have a safe place to be housed between uses.

Once we have a full set of chromebooks, we need a portable charging cart so that the technology will stay charged and ready to use and a lock to secure the cart.

These resources are shared within our math department, so it is important that the chromebooks are easily portable from classroom to classroom. This cart and lock will also secure the chromebooks between classes so that they are well cared for and maintained. Lastly, we need duct tape and labels to keep the cart organized and easy to manage between multiple teachers and hundreds of students.
