My Students
It is a challenge to get students interested in learning. These days students are so in tune with 21st century technology that this is the way to reach them!
Getting technology in the classroom can be a challenge and we need your help to make a change!
We are a small neighborhood Charter School.
We only have two classes per grade level for a total of 200 students. We pride ourselves on focusing on the individual student and offering exciting learning opportunities!
We try to provide as many hands-on learning activities in math and science as possible. Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly difficult to purchase supplies to do the type of activities students need in order to inspire life-long learners.
We are trying to teach students to go above and beyond what is accepted and do the best they can.
My Project
I have requested an av cart in order to find a safer house for the LCD projector that we received last year through DonorsChoose. As stated previously, we are a small school and we also have small rooms. We have to do the best we can with the space we have. Currently setting the projector up in the room consists of putting it on a student chair and propping it and the laptop with books. I'm afraid that the students are going to break the technology that we have.
The projector has been an amazing resource to help students learn visually. We can go beyond the textbooks and provide students with the most up-to-date information/visuals. In addition, the technology creates excitement and students are more engaged in the lessons and activities that are taking place.
This AV cart is definitely a necessity to ensure that the students are getting the most out of the technology in the classroom. The technology opens the doors up to so many learning opportunities.
The cart will be a wonderful supplement to the technology that DonorsChoose supporters have already given us.
It will ensure the safety of the students and that the technology will be used to its fullest!
