This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a New Jersey public preschool serving children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. Our school is a dual language school (English/Spanish). I teach children from various backgrounds and walks of life, making my classroom a reflection of the surrounding community. Many students in my class are ELLs and speak a language other than English at home. As a result, having limited language skills makes teaching and learning more challenging. Often times our families have low or limited income and lack the resources to provide quality books, educational games to support learning at home.
My students enjoy reading and learning about the world around them and from all the exciting experiences they encounter each day.
They take pride in what they learn and achieve in school. I would like to provide my students with an exceptional learning experience once they return for in person learning. Social distancing is hindering their ability to learn from their peers and this project will help me engage my students in meaningful learning in a safe and healthy learning environment.
My Project
As schools reopen for a new school year, my students will resume with a full day of new routines and learning activities that our program has to offer. Having a Wenger Luggage Patriot II carrying case in our classroom will provide an array of benefits from literacy to safety. It is light and compact enough that students can handle it themselves by adjusting the telescopic handle.
The Wenger Luggage Patriot II carrying case provides ample room to store items such as books, learning materials, and cleaning supplies like disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizers to keep my students learning in a safe environment.
We will be able to bring learning outdoors by rolling out books to the playground to promote literacy while reading their favorite stories. Materials can be stored and brought outside with ease for extending science lessons and activities right in our garden.
