This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
After a year of virtual learning, then a year of cautiously learning at arms length, we are finally reconnecting on the classroom carpet for group lessons. When we are on the carpet, students have the chance to move away from their desks, sit in close proximity to the teacher, and turn and talk with a partner. Being closer to the teacher helps capture their attention and makes it easier to see details of books and assignment details.
The teaching easel will allow students to engage in the lessons on the carpet without having to look across the room for the visuals that accompany the lesson.
It will allow me to write examples, post pictures, and allow the students to come up to demonstrate and interact with the content we are learning. This will lead to increased discourse, engagement, and comprehension.
