My students need an area where they can meet for mini lessons and morning meetings. They need a carpet. We are required to have an area for kids to come together where they watch the teacher model the given skill.

My Students
My students walk in the doors everyday looking for that one person that cares about them and their learning. I work at a low income school where 90% of the students receive free or reduced lunch.
Many of the students face great hardships at home and come to school caring a lot of baggage.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day. A good majority of the students are not on grade level and are two to three levels lower than they should be.
My Project
Having an area for students to meet in order to gain knowledge is a big component to the curriculum being taught in my classroom. My students are in need of an area where they can come together to receive direct and guided instruction before they are asked to independently practice skill taught. The students need to see the teacher model how to do a skill, practice with the teacher, practice with a partner before they are able to attempt the skill independently.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student engagement, you will also help to increase their academic achievement.
The carpet area is where they will receive the majority of the instruction that is needed to help them master a certain skill, while also giving them a place where they can be monitored to see if they are understanding concept.
