I teach an amazing group of 2nd graders at a Title I school. Over 90% of our students receive free or reduced lunches.
Several times during the day I like to call the students to the back of the room to do a variety of things. Sometimes it's for a read aloud, to share their writing with the group, or for mini lessons in all subjects. The students are also aloud to move around to read and write throughout the day, which has never presented a problem until now.
The carpet that has been in my room is being removed this summer and being replace with tile. We need a new carpet for our reading area.
I am afraid that the students won't be comfortable on the tile, especially during the winter months when the temperatures are colder.
This rug will help ensure that my students will have a comfortable spot to relax and read as well as focusing on the lessons I do with them during the "carpet time."
