This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students LOVE school! They love to come to school. They love to come into THEIR classroom. They love to work with their classmates. They love to learn.
Kids deserve a great, comfortable and safe environment.
They need materials and their setting to be harmless and happy. They need to know that they are being taken care of and feel good about their surroundings.
My children need to have a classroom that is pleasant and allows them to grow and learn everyday.
My Project
I am requesting a new carpet for my classroom. We spend a lot of time "on the rug". We have ownership of "our rug spots". We feel at home on this meeting area. We focus our instruction and thinking on the carpet. Many of us have asthma, allergies and skin sensitivities. The rug needs to be accessible to all. It also is important to look good. The carpet sees a lot of traffic. It's hard to maintain this classroom feature when it has so many uses and not enough time to be cleaned. The current rug in our classroom was donated 4 years ago. It's had a good life!
