Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

They are always eager to learn! They love research projects along with STEAM projects. Although I teach 5th grade, I have a diverse group. Learning levels range from 2nd grade to 5th grade. Additionally, our classroom does have inclusion students who enjoy being a part of a mainstream classroom.

We are an enthusiastic, student-centered learning community.

Students support each other and would benefit from additional resources. Despite their personal challenges, my students always strive to be the best they can be.

My Project

I teach 5th grade in a small portable classroom that currently lacks a carpeted area for our learners to come together to collaborate.

Having a nice, vibrant new blue carpet area would enrich our classroom learning environment because students would be able to share their thoughts and ideas in a close-knit environment.

I will use the rug to lead math groups, think-pair-share activities, initiate student-led projects, and the carpet would serve as a meeting area for students to come together as a class to have class discussions and morning meetings to positively impact our learning environment.

Additionally, the two chairs would be used for one-to-one student-led learning for students who feel more comfortable in a small group.
