Carnival for Success

My Project

We all know the importance of reading and the difference it will make in a child’s life. We are planning to implement a Carnival celebration for our students that will begin this spring and continue years to come. Having a hot dog roller, the popcorn and sno cone items and the decorations will allow this to happen.

Our second and third grade students are taking IREAD3 and deserve a celebration for their hard work.

Our first celebration will be for those students who pass this state mandated test. Our “carnival” theme will consist of hot dogs, sno- cones, popcorn and games. The students will have a 30 minute celebration that includes pop-a-shot, connect four, ring toss, giant jenga and several other games. You will be providing the means for a carnival food tent with this grant. This will become a yearly tradition for our second and third grade students.

Our second celebration will be school wide. All students will be taking NWEA. Students who have shown both growth and achievement will earn a coupon for the carnival food tent. We know this will prove to be a huge motivator for our students for the end of the year assessments. Here they will receive a hot dog, sno cone and popcorn to enjoy.

Finally, all of the items you so generously fund will be used for several events throughout the year. Our back to school night and family literacy nights can now serve hot dogs, popcorn and sno cones. Student of the month celebrations can now have popcorn and sno cones as rewards. We have several celebrations throughout the year that can now have an established means of providing snacks, dinner and treats thanks to you.
