This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My high school students are future educators and caregivers, learning the fundamentals of child development through hands-on experiences. They not only study theories but also practice real-life skills by working in our preschool lab and taking home infant simulator babies. Many of my students are exploring careers in early childhood education, healthcare, or related fields, and these authentic learning experiences help them see themselves in those roles. They are motivated, creative, and eager to learn how to care for children responsibly and professionally.

To give my students a meaningful and professional learning experience, I am requesting materials that will support their roles as “student teachers” in both the classroom and preschool lab.

We need:

-Name tags and lamination pouches so they can wear professional IDs in the preschool classroom.

-Sheet protectors and cardstock to organize and create teaching portfolios, activities, and visual aids.

These resources will provide structure, organization, and a professional feel to our program. Students will take pride in their role as caregivers and teachers when they walk into the preschool lab or take the baby simulators home with them.

This project is about more than supplies. It’s about preparing students for future careers and instilling a sense of professionalism and responsibility. With proper tools, my students will be able to reflect on their growth, stay organized with their work, and feel confident stepping into real-world caregiver and teacher roles.
