This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school hosts numerous new-to-country students facing challenges due to a lack of essential resources for daily life. Recognizing this, our class is creating this project as a solution by incorporating care package assembly into school jobs. Utilizing available materials, students in the centers can sort and pack items at a designated table, benefiting not only the new-to-country students, but also offering valuable skills and a sense of purpose for students with special needs.

The structured activity of care package assemblage becomes a meaningful way for students with special needs to actively engage in sorting and packing essential items.

This hands-on experience fosters a sense of accomplishment and teamwork, allowing these students to contribute to their peers' well-being. The initiative promotes a positive and inclusive atmosphere within our school, fostering empathy and a sense of community among all students. By addressing the immediate needs of new-to-country students and involving students with special needs in the process, the school creates an environment where everyone can positively contribute to the school community.
