My Project

Our Find Your Shine Girl's Wellness Collective, our after-school girls group, would like to put together a Care Closet for our school. They would like our Care Closet to be a room in our school where any student can come get any personal care items, snacks and dinners free of charge.

Every child should have access to the basic needs of life so that they can focus on their education.

Some of our students struggle with access to meals outside of school and personal hygiene products, and other simple necessities. When our kids have their basic needs met, they feel more self confident, build their self esteem, and will be better able to focus on learning and being a kid.

Having a Care Closet will not only remove any barriers that our kids are experiencing that get in the way of their success at school, but also provide our Girls Wellness Collective an opportunity to expand their worldview, develop empathy and leadership skills, and realize how their actions can have a positive impact.
