Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students might be back in school, but they are still struggling with the effects of the pandemic and distance learning. Nearly every day, my students share with me the hardships they experience at home, including overwhelming stress and not having access to basic necessities.
I want my students to know that my classroom is a safe space where both their physical and mental health will be supported.
The toiletries, snacks, and other materials in this project will be used to restock the "Care Center" in my high school classroom, where students can come to take what they need. The cart includes items for skin care, oral care, and hair care, as well as items like stress balls, fidget spinners, and snacks. This project will help me restock some of the most used items.
