Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Around 800 students from preK-8th grade are in my classes. The majority of the students are Hispanic. They learn better through hands on projects with personal meaning. Family relationships and communal time are important to them. They get excited to share their school projects with family and friends.

My students are learning a practical use for their education and building a sense of value.

My Project

Teaching writing in Chinese is not only teaching literacy but teaching an art form. A touch screen laptop will allow me to demonstrate Calligraphy to my students by allowing me to draw the characters in Calligraphy format. This can't be done on a standard laptop. Because we have all been forced into an online teaching situation, it is important that students receive demonstrations of how to write Chinese Calligraphy.

The end product of your donations will result in the student's ability to use different languages in creating cards to show their love.
