Cards for Clear Communication

Help me give my students 6 boxes of picture cards used to support an evidence-based approach that will help my students learn the correct production of speech sounds and help them speak more clearly.

My Project

From an early age, children are learning to communicate in many ways. Whether they are telling you a story about their interests, answering a question in the classroom, playing a game with a peer, telling you how they feel or attempting to sound out a word, most children are eager to share their thoughts and experiences. Most children listen to the adults around them and begin to imitate what they hear. If that is too difficult, some children will simplify adult models by creating patterns in the way they say their words. If you have ever heard a child say "tar" for "car" or "poon" for "spoon", they are likely producing a larger pattern of speech that is not correct but is allowing them to attempt to communicate their thoughts.

The cards that I am requesting support an evidenced-based approach to remediating the error patterns that my students use to communicate with those around them.

My goal for my students is to learn to correctly produce all of their sounds in words. In turn, they will be able to clearly express their needs and wants, participate in classroom discussions, interact with their peers and build a solid foundation for literacy skills. My students are already eager communicators. Let's support them to make them clear communicators, as well!
