My Project
Our bodies and minds benefit immensely from physical exercise, which is why I seek out ways to incorporate movement-based activities in my classroom. Last year, my students loved drum-based activities, and so introducing cardio drumming and the yoga ball seat choice will be a worthwhile surprise for them as we start the new school year this August.
These classroom materials will not only enhance the music concepts I am teaching, such as rhythm and improvisation, but also contribute to the health and well-being of my students during music class.

A last note about the materials:
-Yoga balls are a crucial component of the cardio drumming setup, and they also offer a great alternative seat choice when we do bucket drumming or singing games. Bouncing on a yoga ball can offer numerous health benefits, including improving posture, aiding the lymphatic system, reducing feelings of stress and anxiety, and helping students burn off some of their abundant energy. Students can also use their yoga ball to model music elements such as tempo, dynamics, and song form.
-The pool noodles will offer a more gentle option, as opposed to wood rhythm sticks, for my younger students who are still working on body awareness.
