I am an art teacher for amazing, creative, curious young artists ranging in age from 5-11. In our art studio we have a cardboard bin and often students my 2nd thru 4th grade students try to create boxes or other objects using cardboard. However, they are limited with their motor skills because their hands aren't strong enough to cut cardboard shapes they want or need using the scissors we have.
We have cardboard galore and I would LOVE to see what they could create if we could make art with cardboard.
We could use cardboard for masks, for creating architecture, for collages, for assemblage sculptures. We could make whole group projects that they can spend time on, rather than only using cardboard on free art days.
We don't have a very big budget, so the opportunity of using cardboard as a medium (something I can access for free) would open up an entire new way of art making for them. And perhaps inspire them to create with materials they can even find in their home.
We would so much appreciate the help with opening up this
