Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students I see in the library are curious and excited to learn new things. They love discovering new books, and they love playing and creating in the library after checking out. I want to add to our collection of creative materials by providing a cardboard creation station. The cardboard construction toolbox, organization bins, and other tools and materials will allow students to unleash their creativity and inventive problem solving.
Providing opportunities to play and create encourages students to use their executive function skills, problem solving skills, and social emotional skills.
Play and creation is such an important part of their learning experience. They have to use their imaginations, create abstract ideas in their mind, and connect those ideas using fine motor skills to build and reiterate their designs, all while communicating their needs with those around them.
