Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are budding storytellers with big ideas, sharp perspectives, and a passion for sharing their voices. They’re building something special—a student-run video production program where they create news segments, documentaries, interviews, and more. But to take their work to the next level, they need tools that help them sound and look as professional as the stories they’re telling.
That’s why we’re asking for your help.
With a boom mic and high-quality microphones, students will be able to capture crisp, clear audio—an essential part of professional video production. Whether filming interviews, skits, or voiceovers, having the right sound equipment will make their projects more polished and impactful.
A large monitor will allow students to collaborate more effectively when editing. Seeing their work on a bigger screen helps them fine-tune details, understand the visual flow of a story, and take pride in producing work that looks great and sounds even better.
And let’s not forget one key ingredient to any creative process: snacks! Video editing, filming, and production take time, energy, and focus. Healthy snacks will keep students energized, motivated, and ready to collaborate, especially during long after-school sessions when they’re fully immersed in their creative process.
This project will give our students a voice—and the tools they need to make it heard. It’s not just about creating videos; it’s about building confidence, learning teamwork, developing technical skills, and giving students a platform to share their stories with the school and beyond.
