This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach explorers, thinkers, creators, artists, critics and unique students. They come from all over North Miami, all paths of life, each with their own luggage but they are all "home" in my classroom. Most of my students are low income yet in school we aim for success and try to give each child an opportunity to explore and learn skills in technology necessary to succeed in this new age. To make gains in my classroom, they break into small groups to collaborate and develop with peers. We celebrate gains together each day.
My students share an excitement and pleasure for writing.
They look forward to any opportunity to research online and get motivation from their favorite authors. My students are book-loving, avid readers, and learners who hanker the adventures of learning.
My Project
Having tablets available to my students will allow them to create digital storytelling books created by them. Alternatively, my students can record radio shows and podcasts about a story that they are reading and then use a tablet to record it.
The donations to this project will help and motivate a new generation of writers.
Having tablets will aid them with the writing process.They will be able to use Dictionary/Thesaurus Apps. to edit their writing. Using Chambers Dictionary and Thesaurus on their tablets will help then enhance their writing by allowing them to enrich their vocabulary and spelling abilities. Note taking apps to capture quick ideas or brainstorm and outline in order to produce their new piece of writing before sitting down and writing it, will motivate my new writers.
