This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I elementary school in Tempe, Arizona with over 85% of our students qualifying for government assistance. Much of the student population struggle with challenges that are generational. Some of these challenges include limited access to technology at home, lack of transportation, and have few basic school supplies to be successful. A good majority of our students come from a home where two languages are spoken.

Despite the daily struggles, every child comes to school with the motivation to learn.

In Kindergarten, our learning is very hands on and filled with engaging activities. A kindergartner's day is typically very long and this can sometimes cause restlessness and inattentiveness. It is my hope to provide opportunities for my students to learn in the most comfortable environment.

My Project

The kindergarten students in my class participate in many projects throughout the year. We celebrate their accomplishments each day. I take many pictures to show the class how special they and their learning truly is.

Having a color photo printer will give us the opportunity to take pictures, print out the photos and celebrate the "Shine Bright" moments that happen daily in our classroom.

With today's technology, often times pictures are taken on smart phones. Taking pictures on cells phones are the quickest and easiest way to capture the moment while in the moment! Having the access to the Kodak Dock as well as the wireless photo printer will allow any smart phone, whether it be an android or IOS, to capture the shine bright moments that happen daily.

My students get so excited to see their photos posted in the classroom and around school. Students taking pride in their work will continue to build their confidence and encourage creativity. Printing out the photos also allows me to share the students projects and experiences with their parents. The smiles that come from the students and their parents are priceless!
