This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a very low socioeconomic background and do not have the access to technology.

Our school is 100% free breakfast and lunch. We have the highest rate of ELL (English language learners) in the state and a high number of special education students.

My Project

My students need a document camera in the classroom to help them visualize their learning. Up until recently, our Smart board was used for majority of instruction. However, our Smart board is currently not working and causing road blocks in our learning. Writing has become impacted because the Smart board was my means of displaying/showing students how to write paragraphs and begin other assignments. A document camera would allow me to show the students exactly what they need to do on their papers. I would love a document camera to help the students visualize fractions, number lines, multiplication, and division. The document camera will allow me to show them exactly how to solve problems in their notebooks.

Having a document camera in the classroom will help bring learning to the next level.

The students will be able to see exactly what is expected of them. The document camera will also be a means of quickly displaying student work to help inform instruction.
