Capturing Our Own Memories! A Digital Camera For Our Class
My students need 2 Kodak digital cameras, 2 SD Memory Cards and a Digital Camera Starter Kit.

"A pivotal moment in 50 students' education came last spring when students from 7th grade class traveled to Washington D.C.
Thanks to the generosity of many people like you, people who visit Donorschoose.org and donate, we will hopefully be traveling to Washington D.C. once again this June 2010.
Recently we discussed how empowering it is to take your own photos. Children and adults alike feel a connection to a place by taking a photo from their perspective. While there are always postcards and posters, they do not capture the moment the way a photo does. It is my vision that our student leaders will be our tour guides in Washington D.C. (after extensive preparation and research).
Our students are also our best storytellers around the school. These cameras will serve as motivators and tools for students to update our school's website with articles, written, produced and photographed by the kids themselves.
We need digital cameras and memory cards so the students can capture all of the moments. This camera will be used by the kids to capture the kid's perspective on the trip in and around Washington D.C. Further, the camera can and will be used by future classes for trips and special events.
