Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are PreK littles ranging from age 3 - 5. For some, this is their first endeavor in an actual schoolhouse setting. I teach students that have been diagnosed with autism and they have the greatest communication challenges. My goal is to push vocabulary through print rich environments and accessibility to a variety of materials.
My Project
Since we are now starting back to physical school after the COVID quarantine, I would like to refresh my students' listening skills by having them be able to focus on a book without any other classroom distractions. This listening center will not only help to get their listening skills back on track, but also reinforce or refresh any book skills that may have been lost.
This listening center will help to boost their language skills and vocabulary knowledge.
While listening to story and following along in the book, students will understand how to use the language to verbally express their themselves.
