Capturing Our Flag Football Season!

Help me give my students an iPad pro to film our games and take team photos.

My Project

This past season was the first ever flag football season for our school. We had so much fun and made it far into playoffs.

For next season we really want to focus on improving our game by recording our games and watching film.

With an iPad, our student managers will be able to record our games as well as take stats. As a team and individually, we can review film together in the moment during our games as well as after as we prepare for our next opponents.

If you watch the NFL you often see players reviewing film of the last possession on the bench to prepare for the next possession.

We are ready to take it to the next level with these strategies, and these women seek to be referred to as football players not "just flag" football players.

Student managers and athletes will also be able to use the iPad to capture memories throughout the season. They will use Google Drive to sort game film and photos, and share these with the team. Then, at the end of the season the underclassmen will use programs on the iPad as well as the photos taken during the season, to create collages for our senior athletes to commemorate their time on the team.

In addition to being the head coach, I am also a computer science teacher at our school, and I have a lot of athletes in my classes. I strongly believe that using tech outside of the classroom walls, doing creative things, and using programs they might not have otherwise ever thought to use, is so important for these women.
