Help me give my students a listening center to support their literacy and language skills!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Marcy's classroom raised $730

My Students
I am a kindergarten teacher at a Title I public school in New York City. My school is wonderfully diverse with children from different countries and backgrounds. My students enter kindergarten curious, inquisitive and excited about learning.
This has been a difficult year for students bouncing between remote learning and in person learning.
When the students are in the classroom they must remain socially distant. For anyone who has ever taught primary grades, we know how difficult this can be.
My Project
These past two years have been difficult, to say the least, for students, families and educators. Read alouds have been proven to support student's literacy skills by exposing them to new vocabulary and themes. By providing my students with a designated listening center, I can reinforce skills taught during whole group lessons during small group centers. Students will be able to listen to stories that have been previously told in class and work on specific skills such as retelling and vocabulary.
The listening center will be a source of excitement for the kindergarteners as they can listen to their favorite stories over and over again!
