Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students that I serve have delays in at least two areas of development. They may have Autism, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD etc. We are a Title One school which serves students of low income families.

The majority of our students receive free breakfast, reduced and/or free lunch.

They have limited resources and will greatly benefit from the use of technology, other resources and materials in order to maximize their education and allow them to grasp the concept of the world around them and abroad.

My Project

With the use of the Sprocket my students will be able to capture the moment as they go through their daily routine. They like to see themselves as they build and collaborate together. As we look through the pictures and discuss what is seen, their language skills as well as their social skills improve. They can also take pictures of one another and create special memories. As children work together and create and tell their stories to their peers as well as others they will also foster a positive learning environment. With the use of the Laptop my students will learn how to use technology which they will continue to use as they progress throughout their upcoming school years and throughout their lives. They may search, learn, and interact with their peers and caregivers what they discover through educational websites and software as they learn how to use technology.

Altogether, the use of the Sprocket, headphones and the Laptop will not only foster the love of learning, it will also create a positive learning environment, create a lifetime of memories and assist the students as they become proficient as they continue to use their technology skills which will benefit them for years to come.

Some of my students are easily distracted and have difficulty speaking; therefore, the use of the headphones will assist them in listening clearly and attentively to their online activity. As the students listen, they will learn how to follow directions and will receive instant reinforcement as they proceed in their learning experience.
