Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I recently had a project funded that provided an opportunity to promote ornithology among my students via bird feeders to observe nature.

Now it's time to take it to the next level of birding!

Now that my students have set up the bird feeders and we have birds coming to feed, I want students to more closely observe birds' attributes and anatomy using binoculars in order to "capture" them using paint on canvas. In order to keep the birds coming, we need bird seed and suet. The bird guides will help us identify the birds that visit the feeders. Students will share their paintings by displaying them in the classroom and we will use our Science journals to record which birds they have identified.
