Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a Dual Language teacher in Brooklyn's Bedford Stuyvesant community. My students have such diverse backgrounds and ability levels that I need to supplement my library with bilingual readers to support their needs. My students are excited to come to school, eager to learn, and have created a true loving classroom community.
Our community needs your donations to improve our bilingual library to support my Spanish dominant students gain the literacy skills that they need to be successful.
These books would be used for small group instruction, read alouds, and individualized instruction. It is vital that my students build a strong foundation and a love for reading. Thank you for taking the time to read about my students and our project.
