My Students

My students are a group of resilient, open-minded, and creative individuals that seek to be successful in school and life.

Working in a Title 1 school has afforded me the opportunity to encourage and relate to students in order to ensure their success.

Based on current data, many of the kids at the school are considered to be reading below grade level and require extensive reading intervention. Despite their current shortcomings, these children display a willingness to learn in order to achieve success.

My Project

My students will use the document camera to ultimately increase their reading comprehension. In order to do this, the camera will allow me to create interactive read aloud, model fluency, and demonstrate strategies that life – long readers practice. It is also through this document camera that students are exposed to the rigorous vocabulary that can be found in upper-elementary texts.

By donating to this project, you will be allowing students the chance to increase their comprehension.

It has been discovered that with an increase in comprehension students develop a positive image of themselves. It is my desire to not only build comprehension, but ultimately confident citizens.
