My Students
Students are gifted and talented; always eager to try something new. They come from various boroughs of New York City to attend class in East Harlem. Their various races and backgrounds give the school a vibrant feel of culture. Students are critical thinkers and require different learning styles to accommodate their needs. Within the school day, students are analyzing images, text and completing hands-on task to develop their understanding. Students are asking questions and engaged in peer discussions to deepen their understanding.
My Project
In the science classroom students will be completing investigations and will need to document data. Like scientist collect images to analyze and evaluate students will be doing the same. Many of the students are visual learners and are able to explain their thinking with a visual representation of their science investigation. Students will be able to track changes of their investigation by documenting the changes over time with these digital cameras. Each group can then share their results like real scientist to the entire class. These digital cameras will prepare my students to be college and career ready for success!
