My Project
My high school students struggle with mathematical concepts that are presented in ways that are not engaging enough to them. I want them to learn to love math so they can explore careers in the STEM field. We will use the 3-ring binders to help keep track of their process in class and during these games.
Through the use of games, the students are able to recall math facts quickly and without fear of failure.
These students LOVE competition but are fearful in the normal classroom setting.
The card games that I have chosen are to increase their competency and speed in necessary math facts. I have games that will help the students not only find a solution, but prove it. I also have games that will work on algebraic concepts and properties of math. This will help the students to be more open to careers and study in the STEM fields. Our school is low-income and has a high number of students who are at risk when it comes to completing schooling. I want them to have the chance to grow and succeed.
