My students need a class set of Chromebooks to become effective 21st century learners: manipulating science and math simulations, coding, researching historical and literary topics, and publishing their work.
Hello! I am a fourth grade special education teacher in an Integrated Co-Teaching classroom( 40% of the class are students with disabilities) in a Title 1 school ( 80% of the school is low income). My classroom consists of students with disabilities and English Language Learners. My students come from diverse families and backgrounds and bring a wide variety of experiences to our classroom. I am trying to provide an abundance of learning opportunities, in all subject areas, for this differentiated group of scholars.
My students are creative, motivated, eager and enthusiastic learners.
My students enjoy engaging in hands-on activities, and applying content in the real-word. I incorporate a variety of learning, strategies, and numerous opportunities for group work to ensure that each student's needs are met. My students are passionate about learning and motivated to be prepared for the real world!
My Project
Using technology is a imperative skill to access and contribute to the ever-changing world. Chromebooks will continue to enhance the real-world classroom that I strive to create. Due to limited technological access, my students rarely have opportunities to create presentations, conduct online research, and experience coding.
Chromebooks will truly aid my students in learning a full gamut of skills: basic typing to more complex coding.
Coding builds on students' critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as utilizes a plethora of mathematical concepts. Chromebooks will benefit students as they navigate through the fourth grade curriculum and beyond. This access will truly prepare them for our diverse, technology-filled world.
