My Project

The students at our school are in their first year of completing Capstone Projects. This is a brand new English class at our school this year, and its intention is to give opportunities to students that are often overlooked in the world of academia. This project gives them the chance to do something meaningful to them.

Many students have chosen paths of self-improvement, career interest, or skill emphasis.

All of these projects are meant to highlight the student for who they are and what their potential can be, and give them the chance to show that off through a sustained inquiry project. Students are embarking on journeys ranging from automobile restoration and curriculum development to creating a documentary and job shadowing a nurse.

At the end of their school year, these students will participate in a showcase day which gives them the chance to share their work and progress with the student body, community, and school staff and leaders. These posters are a required element of their showcase project to serve as an accumulation of data and information that they found over the course of the year. A tri-fold poster will aid them better than a regular poster as they will be able to set it up on a table for their audience members to more easily access.
