Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our days are filled with laughter as our 5th grade math classes learn to take new risks and ask questions about our world.

I serve a student population in which 90% of my students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Most of my students do not have the opportunity to attend summer science camps or extra curriculum STEM experiences. As a result of this, I work diligently to provide my students with as many rich STEM experiences as I can give them. I want them to see how the math we are learning connects to fields that they may one day work in.

The indi Robot Class Kits allow students to code commands as they create patterns of angles to complete robotic challenges. This is an engaging way to combine geometry and technology. It brings creativity into their understanding of mathematics.
