My Students

My Creative Writing students use words to express themselves in a safe, positive way. They dive into the art of poetry and make music with the letters on the page. They travel to different worlds to tell their unique stories.

My Project

As part of the creative writing process, students have the opportunity to be published in our school Literary Magazine, called Canyons. Each included poem, story, photograph, and art piece is created by our students. This magazine is then curated, designed, edited, and published all by students, for students at our school. With a new laser jet printer, I will be able to create more literary magazines to make available so all students can see how their fellow classmates have used words and pictures to express their emotions, experiences, and ideas.
