My students need to learn about density and see how density plays many roles in Earth Science. I love to have my students do hands on labs in order for them to get a better understanding of what density truly is. My students need digital scales in order to do these labs as well as many other labs.
My students are the greatest group of young adults that I have ever taught.
They are very caring, smart and eager to learn. They attend a school that has a high amount of poverty in Idaho. They are 8th graders who along with my help are preparing themselves for high school.
My Project
These digital scales will help my students accurately measure mass when it comes to doing various labs throughout the year. It will also allow them to see the difference between mass and weight. Without the proper supplies and/or limited amounts it doesn't allow all my students the opportunities for the hands on experience that labs are intended to do. With your generosity, my students won't have to "weight for the masses" in order to do labs!
Your donation will allow many more students each class period to be an active member in the classroom using hands on materials, thus giving them more of a chance to remember what they've learned.
I have over 120 eager science-minded young adults waiting for more supplies.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
