My Students

Do you ever wonder what a five year sees when he/she is sitting at their desk or on the rug? Often, we assume that what we see is the same thing the students see, especially from a distance.

I teach to a wonderful curious group of Kindergarteners who are intrigued with everything around them.

They are a diverse group of students, coming from many different parts of the city. Half of my students are English Language Learners, and with the use of a simple pocket projector, I would be able to project work onto a white screen for all students to see. Utilizing a simple pocket projector will change what the students see, or better yet, ensure that they see everything from pictures to print.

My Project

The pocket projector is small enough to be portable to be used anywhere, yet have the ability to perform the task it is meant to perform - allowing students to see better. Books and any type of print, such as poems and songs, can be projected for students to see. These can be projected for shared reading - a clearer shared reading. Students will be able to see the letters and words. Since my classroom lacks the physical space a large overhead projector would need, a small pocket projector would do the same job and more.

Students would benefit from having print projected in a manner for all to see.

It's important that students be able to see what they are supposed to be learning and in Kindergarten, learning to read is one of the biggest obstacles to overcome. Allowing students to see print that is larger than a regular size book would make a huge impact on their learning. All students deserve a chance to see and to succeed.
