My Students

My students are boys and girls in fifth through eighth grades at several Lakota schools. They are drawn to unique experiences and like to try new things. Participating in an archery team has been a great way to do something they may have never done before. Archery is a sport demanding a range of skills including steady hands, strong shoulders, flexible muscles, a keen eye and a cool disposition. Archery has numerous health and fitness benefits, as well as being an enjoyable and social sport.

My Project

Having five additional stands and a large supply of target faces will allow the program to expand into additional schools. Five stands will open the program to an additional 15 students in each location. We are already bringing the exciting world of archery to 3 Lakota buildings and these supplies will allow us to support 2 more buildings per season. If fully funded, we will be able to create a lasting love of non-traditional sports among students and their families for years to come. This is a win-win-win situation for everyone.
