My students need speakers that I can attach to my laptop so that when I am giving PowerPoint presentations, the students can have the advantage of audio.
My students have started to enjoy Power Points. I'd like to add audio into my lessons. What better way to bring a lecture to life then to add sound. Imagine students hearing classical music when we talk about the history of music. Imagine them hearing a famous speech when we do public speaking.
My students are inner city teenagers/pre-teens who are from poverty stricken families.
We are a Title 1 school. Money is extremely tight and resources very limited. Many are going to our school so that they can be trained for jobs in the maritime industry. We don't have the ability to give the things many schools take for granted. As it stands, I cannot provide them with audio to anything that I believe will be of benefit to their learning that has sound associated with it.
My Project
Imagine a library where students come in for lessons that have audio of famous speakers, music, video clips or short films that they create. Speakers will allow the students to listen to audiobooks, compare and contrast various sound recordings and enliven the lessons. Speakers will allow the audio learners to hear parts of lessons and thereby increase the audio learners understanding and retention.
The donation of speakers will improve the classroom by helping to create richer lessons that reach various learning styles, in this case audio learners will greatly benefit.
Students lives will change for the better because they will be able to hear things which in prior lessons either had to be heard through the teacher's voice or could not be incorporated into their learning due to a lack of equipment. Students worlds will be expanded through audio incorporated lessons.
