Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is located in the poorest congressional district in the nation, and all students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. The school is predominately Latino and African American. Thirty percent of the students are English language learners, and some are the first of their families to graduate. Despite all of this, 100% of our graduating seniors are college or career bound.
Our students should have the same opportunities as any other student in the country.They work hard to succeed without letting anything get in their way.
As a community school, each year our graduation rate has increased, and we want to make their learning as meaningful and purposeful as possible.
The ability to effectively engage students in learning is paramount to educational success. One crucial element often overlooked is the power of sound. By providing our classroom with headphones and speakers, we can significantly enhance the learning experience for all students.
Headphones offer a multitude of benefits. They create a focused learning environment, allowing students to concentrate on auditory materials without distractions. Whether listening to audiobooks, language lessons, or educational videos, headphones provide an immersive experience that promotes comprehension and retention. Additionally, they accommodate students with diverse learning styles, offering a personalized approach to education.
Speakers, on the other hand, foster collaborative learning and create an engaging atmosphere. They enable group activities such as listening to music, podcasts, or presentations. Furthermore, speakers can be used to enhance multimedia lessons, making learning more dynamic and enjoyable.
We will use the Kindles to listen to books on tape, and also to use the calming app that I purchased for the class, to sit back and relax their minds, so they they can de-stress would you be good for their mental health.
