My students need an accessible view from the projector to the screen. It has been difficult to fit a document reader, projector, and laptop all into a small cart.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are English Language Learners. They are bilingual in Spanish and Russian. They require lots of visual support in acquiring the English language. Our school is located in the heart of Hollywood, CA. Our students live in this urban city with many cultural and societal barriers. Many times school is their only source of interaction and socializing with other cultures. At our school and classroom we strive to give our students many opportunities to multiculturalism and access to technology. We hold many community events such as Halloween carnival, book fairs, movie night, and much more.
My Project
In class I expect all my student to use PowerPoint for at least two presentations. Students can also present for other projects using the document reader too, which is why having a projector and a cart is of great importance. We already have he technological equipment, we only need a cart that can support all of it together. Having this cart not only will it facilitate my teaching and delivery of lessons. It will help keep my student engaged in the lesson and not on our equipment falling. Students love to use the equipment when they present and giving them access to a projector, laptop, and document reader simultaneously with out having to pause their presentation to get one or the other equipment plugged in would be awesome!
