Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What better way to learn than through imaginative play? My students are on the Autism Spectrum and playing is such an amazing way to learn and socialize. I am always looking for ways for my students to engage with their typical peers.
Playing is such an important skill for my students with Autism to learn and it gives my students a chance to socialize, communicate and to make friends.
Using their imagination allows them to be free and express themselves in a safe and accepting manner. Mr. Fred Rogers said it best " Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning".
Providing these STEM items to my students will help them build their imagination, communication skills, social emotional skills as well as social interactions just to name a few. This project will help enrich their over all experiences with their peers.
