My Students
I teach over five hundred AMAZING students in a rural community of central Florida. We dance, play instruments, sing funny songs, and have a blast. My students are so caring and kind. I can't wait to see them every day! Their favorite thing to do in my room is play "Freeze Dance" to 'Everybody DANCE Now!' We perform concerts for the community and celebrate classroom successes and each other. These students go out of their way to help the students that need it and the teachers that appreciate it.
My Project
If there were a perfect classroom, it would have caring students (got it!), lots of instruments to play (got it!), and everything the children need to be successful right at their fingertips (got....WAIT!). Class time is PRECIOUS; I see these students for 50 minutes once a week, and every minute counts. Class time must be used as efficiently as possible, to guarantee no second is wasted. Many idol minutes go by, while the kids wait for their materials to be passed out--or turned back in to the correct location.
The solution to this time-management problem is quite simple: each student should have their materials in bags at their chairs for quick access!
When they are finished using their drum sticks, or composition notebooks, they would be turned BACK in: into the bag hanging on their chair! Easy peasy!
